a little about me..

Hi there! I’m Kim - designer and owner of Flourish Florals.

I grew up just outside of Chicago, where my love for nature began early on. As a kid, I would spend countless hours outdoors—whether it was riding my bike through the forest preserve or helping my grandparents in their garden. I was completely captivated by the beauty of flowers and plants - which sparked my deep connection to nature.

My creative side led me to study fashion merchandising in college, which is where I fell in love with design, color and styling. After graduating, I worked as a Visual Merchandiser at Zara, creating eye-catching displays and learning the art of storytelling through displays. Later, I transitioned into real estate, working for a top team in Chicago with a strong focus on customer service. While I loved building relationships and helping clients, I found myself missing a more hands-on creative outlet.

That’s when I decided to start Flourish Florals! This business is a true reflection of everything I love: artistry, nature, and the simple joy that flowers bring to people’s lives.

I am passionate about creating artful and memorable florals for weddings and events because flowers have an incredible ability to enhance a space and evoke emotion. I love to see a bride’s face light up when she sees her bouquet and guests' reactions as they step into a transformed reception space. These moments of joy are what truly inspire me and make this work so fulfilling. 

When I'm not obsessing about flowers you can find me indulging in the little things that bring me joy - like finding the perfect cup of coffee paired with a piece of dark chocolate, traveling with my husband or taking long neighborhood walks with my Goldendoodle. I celebrate both the big and little moments in life and would be honored to help celebrate yours.
